So I FINALLY started reading the Hunger Games, and I am feeling much more informed. I totally get it now. There is a reason why these books are so popular and why there is so much hype surrounding the movie, set to be released this Friday. Already the casting has caused quite a stir, with some very attractive men in the film along with some very lovely ladies.
In fact it’s the ladies of the movie who are making a splash on the red carpet. Both Elizabeth Banks and Jennifer Lawrence have dazzled at all the Hunger Games premieres, wearing beautiful bold colors. Just like how the main character Katniss makes a statement in her fiery ceremony costume, Jennifer Lawrence made a statement in her chic gold dresses at both the LA and London premieres. And although off screen, these women are inspiring females globally with their looks, their characters are doing the same. Often famous movies have that sort of effect (I mean, I couldn’t possibly be the only person who wanted to throw on some tight black pants and heels after seeing Grease for the first time).
These women are going to big influences over the next while (possibly years, with hopefully the making of the other Hunger Games stories). My prediction is even the lesser known actresses in the film are going to become household names. If you check out Amandla Stenberg’s picture below, how can you deny that with that pose this girl – who plays Rue – will be anything but a star?
