Want to photograph scenes of fervor and passion? Bring your camera to a rally featuring presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Check out the audience. Social conservatives, most of them Christian, are fired up. Sometimes their passion is expressed with religious symbolism and prayer.
Outside Santorum’s campaign venues (and sometimes inside), fervor is expressed in a different way. Protestors oppose Santorum with an intensity greater than directed at other Republican candidates. The messages on their signs are often scathing with criticism for his social conservatism.
All this fervor and passion make for effective stock photos. The images depict not only a presidential campaign, but a flashpoint in the so called cultural wars.
