I love fishing. But my idea of a good day of fishing usually involves a lot of sunshine, few neighbors, a good book, and a fishing pole going off the edge of the dock. We recently received a collection of pictures from our partners at Reuters all about fishing. But, a far cry from my ideal fishing conditions, this collection shows fishermen going to extreme lengths to get their seafood.
From dangerous ocean conditions, to freezing cold ice fishing to just a lot of hard work to pull inĀ haul, these pictures show fishermen from all around the world. Whether they’re fishing by hand, with a pole, or with spears, each picture is a dramatic representation of people both earning a livelihood and doing it for sport.
Check out the photos we have in this post, then head back to Newscom to see a lot more pictures of extreme fishing.
