Over 30 years ago in a theater not so far away Star Wars debuted and inspired a legion of loyal fans that have made it one of the most successful movie franchises ever. Now the movies and the fans that love them have May the Fourth to celebrate. The day has become known as Star Wars Day because of it similarity to the famous line form the Movies “May the force be with you”.
Just like the characters of Star Wars, the fans come in a wide range including young and old but the kind that comes to mind most often is ones camping out for releases. As dedicated as those fans are, there are even fans that show their love of the show all day everyday with tattoos.

Star Wars Tattoos Surely the greatest tribute a Star Wars fan can give is a pound (or in some cases a lot more) of their own of flesh. For the past 30 years, fans of the films have been going to great lengths to express their passion for the Saga. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than with the large group of people who have chosen to mark themselves for life with the captivating imagery found throughout that galaxy far, far away. JM5/A. With years of success the show has shown up at many high profile places including Fenway Park and The White House.

As awesome as those are, my favorite fans are the creative ones. These fans take their love of Star Wars and mix in a little extra flavor to make Chef Vader or even an Elvis Trooper.

May the fourth is now the one day set aside for the biggest of fans down to the casual fans like myself to step back and appreciate the movie that has had such a large impact. One of the best ways to celebrate is to take a half day at work and get some friends and spend the 13 hours and 17 minutes watching all six movies back to back.
Or if that is too much of a commitment just be sure to use the phrase “may the force be with you” with everyone you talk with. After all you never know where you will meet a fellow Star Wars fan – or a real jedi.
