So the wedding may have been a fairy tale but the 72-day marriage apparently was not.
The split of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries is making national – and even local – headlines, after the reality starlet filed for divorce on Monday. Their relationship had been under speculation for a while since the pair were often seen showing up solo to big events post the August nuptials. So the rumors began flying that the newlyweds were having trouble in paradise and like most rumors in Hollywood, it turned out to be true (like we really didn’t think you were pregnant, Jessica Simpson).
Does anyone really understand the obsession with reality TV and celebrity drama? As an avid (and very ashamed) viewer of the E! Network, I cannot figure out why my DVR is recording every moment of the Kardashians’ lives. Maybe it’s a need for drama I will never create in my own life, or it’s just a must for me to know if Kim really has butt implants (in this case, I feel like curiosity killed the cat and my IQ is the proverbial cat). No matter what the reason for watching, as long as Ryan Seacrest is producing it, people will be viewing it.
We have weeks of gossip to look forward to thanks to Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian, and – whether you like it or not – this story will be milked until even k-redible sources start sounding like the National Enquirer. So jump on board or roll your eyes but go ahead and enjoy these images of dating to divorce in less than a year!
