With only seven weeks until the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games, if you haven’t started planning how you’ll cover this summer’s biggest event, then it’s time to start planning. Here is some information we got from our partners at the european pressphoto agency (epa) about their coverage of this Olympics. We’ll have many partners covering every aspect of the event and we’ll give you more updates about how you can get the most out of Newscom’s Olympic images and videos as we go along, but we hope this information from one of our partners will help you as you plan and prepare your coverage.

- General Information on epa’s Coverage -

July 27to August 12, 2012, plus pre-event coverage.

Photographers:

30+ photographers contributing images to the epa coverage team.

Editors:

8 editors working directly in London.

Pre-Coverage

Olympic feature coverage will start approximately 10 days before the Opening Ceremony.

Throughout spring 2012, coverage is planned of test events taking place in the Olympic venues.

Expected Turnout:

1500 images per day.
