The color blue is basically awesome. I love it, and apparently so does 50% of the people in the United States. Perhaps that’s why blue jeans are the top selling article of clothing, and blue cars are the most popular color. Why is it that so many people go crazy for the color blue? It might have to do with some of its symbology.
For instance, blue stands for strength, freedom, peace, calm, stability, harmony, unity, trust, truth, confidence, cleanliness, loyalty, and new beginnings. (Appropriate for January, eh?) That is why many flags around the world have blue on them. Some other things associated with the color blue: Blue fire is the hottest. Blue skies are the happiest. Blue emotions are the saddest. Apparently blue is a color of extremes.
Blue is also a primary color. This means that without blue, we would be forced to live in a world made from yellows and reds. There would be no such thing as “cool colors”. Plus, now that Jay-Z and Beyonce named their daughter “Blue Ivy” blue will soon become the coolest name.
