When you got parents with big names in Hollywood, it’s not totally unusual to catch the acting bug. And that is exactly what happened to Dakota Johnson. Her parents are actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, and her step-father is Antonio Banderas, just for added measure. Acting is just in her blood. When she was just ten years old she had her debut on the big screen alongside her half sister, playing the daughters to their real life mother in Crazy in Alabama. The film was also directed by Banderas. It was a family affair.
In 2006, Dakota was voted as Miss Golden Globe, a title that is given to typically the daughter or son of actors. They assist in the annual Golden Globe Awards. That same year, Dakota got in to modeling. She signed with a modeling agency but it wasn’t until after she graduated from high school that she signed with William Morris Agency and started her acting career.
In 2010 she landed a role in the highly popular film The Social Network. Her scene in the movie was opposite Justin Timberlake (lucky girl). She also had small roles in the comedies 21 Jump Street, and the Judd Apatow produced film, Five Year Engagement. But this past year, she got her first starring role as one of the title characters in the television show Ben & Kate. Despite some mediocre ratings, Fox did pick it up for a full season.
So in honor of her budding career, check out these images and more we have back at Newscom of Dakota Johnson.
