A fiery explosion ripped through the town of West, Texas last night, destroying a fertilizer plant and leveling homes in the area around the plant. The explosion and fire may have killed as many as 15 people and injured more than 160 others according to reports this morning. Continue reading →

Well it’s been one month since Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected Pope Francis I. And from all the great pictures we’ve been seeing, it seems to be going quite well! After the initial I-just-got-elected-pope jitters (which is completely understandable…), Pope Francis seems to have settled in quite comfortably, making me believe that being Pope isn’t so scary, and definitely gets easier with time. Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s first female Prime Minister, died this morning at age 87 from a stroke. Not only was she the first female leader in Britain, she was the first female to lead a major Western power and did so for eleven years.
