Paris is known as one of the fashion capitols of the world, so obviously any style that is debuted there is going to be a new trend for the world to follow. Well I sort of hope this isn’t entirely true… At this year’s Paris Fashion Week there has been a lot of… well… let’s just say creative pieces that have walked down the runway. This is a completely personal opinion when I say that I’m not a huge fan of looking like an animal you might see in a Star Wars movie, but what do I know about fashion anyway…
Despite some heavily feathered and bizarre trends that have been shown, there have also been some exquisite pieces. A lot of what has been seen on the catwalk involves structure while maintaining a sense of femininity. Darker hues, which are always popular for Fall are being taken over by a lot of white as well (the color that took over the red carpet at this year’s Oscars). The myth that you can’t wear white after Labor Day is being thrown completely out the window. However in this day and age, most fashion faux pas seem to be perfectly acceptable. You were once never allowed to mix black and blue, but now those are commonly combined colors.
Some of these “ready to wear” collections have me nervous, but maybe there intention is to open our eyes to something new. Change can be a good thing, and in fashion it’s definitely inevitable.
Paris Fashion Week has been going on since 28th of February and will run until the 7th of this month, so in honor of the latest in fashion, check out these images (and the more we have back at Newscom) of the styles debuting in Paris!
