The best part of every year is when our partners start sending in their collections of their best pictures of the year. We get hundreds of thousands of images every year, that sometimes we forget to look for the really good ones. Fortunately we get these collections every year to help us remember the big events of the year and also to see some of the truly incredible shots that our partners got over the course of the year.

United Press International, UPI, is a Newscom partner and we’re featuring their collection here today. Headquartered in Washington D.C., UPI has been covering international news since 1907. Today they have offices all over the world. In this collection you can see their wide range of coverage from stunning landscape shots to entertainment to the biggest news stories of the year.

Check out the images in this blog, then you can go back to Newscom to see more of the best from UPI for 2011. (Please be patient. There are a lot of photos back at this link, so it may take a minute or two to load. But it’s totally worth it. We promise.)
