During awards season, there is nothing like the excitement over what style will be showing up on the red carpet. What will the elite of Hollywood be wearing? What trends will be set? And then there is also the morbid curiosity of what will bomb as well. But of course, let’s face it, all red carpet glamour is just a lead up to the most celebrated award ceremony of all… The Academy Awards. Yes, what the celebrities wear on the red carpet is important. How they accessorize is crucial as well, but what can make or break a look is the hairstyle the famous sport.

There are certainly go-to looks in fashionable hairstyles like a pulled back chignon, but this season we are seeing a variety of styles to suit the young and hip, to the mature alike. Move over Pippi Longstocking. Stars are taking the braid to a whole new level, with a lot more sophistication. Along with having the effect of romanticizing an outfit, the look is one that is easy to achieve. It automatically can give an I-don’t-try-too-hard-and-I-still-look-amazing sort of vibe.
