After a week of trials in Omaha the United States swimming team is set and is looking to be one of the best teams the US has ever had. Natalie Coughlin and 17-year-old Missy Franklin will headline the women’s events and on the men’s side superstars Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps will battle with each other to add to their already impressive trophy case.
Four years ago USA Swimming brought home 31 Olympic medals and fallowed by another 29 at the world championships. Franklin will have the chance to bring home the most medals as she is competing in seven events which is the most of any US woman swimmer ever. The seven events include the 100m free, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 200 free along with three relay events.
