It’s that time of year again: time to set goals and get to work. Time to make this year better than last. Time to finally getting around to those things we’ve been meaning to get around to for years. Time to finally, really, honestly set resolutions for this year that I’ll actually keep.

Every January is so full of promise. I love looking ahead to the new year and thinking about how great it’s going to be. It’s especially refreshing after a somewhat depressing December when I realize that the past year has been pretty much the same as the last five years and I didn’t even think about half of the resolutions that I had carefully set. But January is a time of new beginnings. A chance to turn over a new leaf and a time to make everything better, right?

This month on FocalPoint we’re going to feature photos that relate to some of the most common new year resolutions. Today we’re focusing on working out and getting in shape. I think almost everyone - except perhaps the models in these photos – sets that as their resolution. We’re not asking to look like the models in the photos always, but it would be nice to get rid of that little pouch around the belly and perhaps tone up those upper arms a bit. It’s not so much that I want to look great, but I want to feel like I can be healthy and active, which is what I should focus on when making a goal about my body. Focus on what it can do, not just how it looks.

That said. I wouldn’t mind looking as healthy as the lady in the above picture.
